Lost in the Rain

So much to learn and so little time.  As I sit with a sprained ankle, I am navigating this wonderful world of Rain and have vowed to learn as much as I can while a little incompacitated.  Having been out of the computer world, okay I've done email and searched the internet, but other than that the last ten years have been a blur.  So, while searching to find out how to add "wallpaper" and a top band to my blogs, I found some other interesting pieces of information that I can add to my computer verbage.

Widgets...who knew they are not tools found in your shed, but are used to personalize the side bar of your profile.

Links...is not only a term used to describe gold jewellery and in golf, but a way to offer "link love" within a blog to ensure search engine optimization.

SEO...(how computer people love their acronyms)...no, this is not someone higher up in the Rain family, but is search engine optimization.  I am of the belief that this one will require several bottles of wine and late nights to ensure I get this one right...note to self:  must add some to my profile description.

ARU...Active Rain University....I've always wanted to go to university and live the life of a care free teenager living in residence.  Unfortunately, no residence to run to, but an on-line place I will run and not walk to register for my Introductory class.

Still looking for the information on adding the "wallpaper" (okay, it was called this years ago...has this changed??) and top band.  In the meantime, I am going through the AR manual...learning much and dancing in the Rain.

If you do a search here on ActiveRain for "customize banner" you'll get lots of good results.  I haven't read through all of this, but at first glance, this series looks really good.

Good for you for wanting to learn more and take advantage of all that is here.  I hope youhave a speedy recovery!

Hey I recognize you....you are one of the ones that I received some great information from re: ActiveRain's features.  Thanks for taking the time to teach us newbies...as a visual person, I love learning through videos.  I will check the "customize banner" section today.  Take care.
