Newark Real Estate: December home sales post gains in volume and value; housing supply is healthy

There were more homes sold in Newark for the month of December compared to that of the previous month. Median prices increased as well for sold homes. The numbers are comparable to their levels a year ago.

Housing supply is healthy – less than 3 months worth of supply – as a result of increased sales and a drop in new listings.

Most of the sold homes in December were regular sales. On the other hand, about half of active and pending listings are short sales.
