I’m glad you
are an Activerain addict, but please stop reading on your
blackberry! I’m glad to be a judge in this contest and
I’ll be the first to
admit now that I may be an addict, but I have one simple request. That
request
to you other addicts and that is you have to stop reading my blog on
your
Blackberries.
Now, I know you have to, you might miss something if you don’t. You are in a meeting and you won’t be back at your computer for another two hours and you want to be the next person who gets to see my latest post that may or may not be featured, but if you are the first you can get your “Call the shots” numbers up if you read it first.
There is just one problem… Some of you lately have been having “Fat Finger” syndrome. Now, I understand accidents happen. The first call that was an accident happened while I was in church, that was my bad for not turning off my phone. But the next two that called me were from the east coast. I love you my east coast friends, but most of the time at 7:30am your time I am asleep. (It is 4:30am here on the west coast)
Twice this week I’ve gotten accidental phone calls from people reading my blog on Activerain from their Blackberry. Now, I did answer the phone, but both times the callers were not there on the other end. I have to say if it was me and knowing what I had did, I would have at least apologized and reached out to meet the other members of the rain. Heck, I answered the phone and I wasn’t going to be mad it was an accident. But, it was disappointing that both times after going back to sleep and waking up later I had to look up the numbers on the internet to find out they were agents from Activerain.
I’d give them a call back and say, “Hey, I see you called a few hours ago.” They would say, “Yeah, I accidently called you from my Blackberry while reading your blog.” Well, OK, but hanging up on me? If this happens to you, make it an opportunity to meet new people. We are a social network and I’m ready to be social with you my online friends even if it is the accidental 4am call.
