Do you think I could have a logo, a motto or a google promotion that announces to the world...."I only work with fun people??!!" Do you think that would go over well?? I mean I get it - I really, truly, sincerely do. Buying a house can be stressful. There are so many questions, unknowns and variables. But really, in the end isn't it mostly a privilege and a joy to enter the world of home ownership? Isn't it a wonderful milestone like getting married or having a child or getting a promotion? I think so - in fact I know so. Soooooo, why the mug shot? Why the down and out disappointment? Why dear clients and friends do you walk through the door of a potential home and act like you have entered a funeral parlor? All right - the kitchen has a wallpaper sailboat border, the backsplash features a peacock front and center and the downstairs bathroom has a pink commode but really can't you find your sense of humor and see past these quick easy fixes on a potentially fantastic home?? Or just smile and say WOWZA - I can't live with that pink toilet, let's move on. And on we would go hand in hand into the sunset until we find the perfect fit. It's fun!!! Have a good time! Enjoy the process! See the good, the bad and the ugly and smile all the way to the settlement table. This is supposed to be a joyride not a wake! Just a friendly reminder from your Alexandria Virginia specialist to have a good time. :)
You have an interesting look on the market. I'd love to be able to let buyer and seller start out with a positive attitude, unfortunately I don't see it very often. Good luck!
Nicky - let's back up a second....people can actually "enjoy" this process? What a novel idea! I couldn't agree with you more.
Yes, the home has orange shag, it was built in 1972 and is still occupied by the original owners. I can be replaced, or better yet, steam clean it and wait a few years it may just come back into popularity! Don't let it ruin the fact that everything else about the property is exactly what you were looking for.
Nicky,
This could be contagious! Let's spread it around and help make the buying process fun for the buyers, as it should be. You are right on!
