Do you REALLY want to be the hero in your neighborhood?

Hero

Today's KCM blog (Keeping Current Matters) addresses a common dilemma with some sellers.  The housing market is dynamic, not static, and the best person to help you understand that is a Realtor.   A professional at analyzing sales statistics, neighborhood sales trends and pricing, a Realtor knows where the market is headed, not just where it's been.  The very best Realtors keep abreast of real estate news daily.   As you would not tell your physician how to examine you, a Realtor is worthy of respect for his/her knowledge and does not need you to manage the process.  A Realtor is dedicated to the profession 24/7 and will not hesitate to walk away from sellers (and buyers) who refuse to respect their expertise and listen to them.  So sellers, if you REALLY want to be a neighborhood hero, do NOT listen to your Realtor about the market and how to price and prepare your home to sell.   That will ensure that all of your neighbors' homes that are available will sell long before yours, and they'll love you for it.

Good post, Valerie, though I've never felt quite like Superwoman :-)

The fact is that it is easier to be informed than un-informed.  With Google alerts, it is quite easy to become the local expert, just by reading the emails that are sent to you.  I have several and get them daily.

Great post.
