Out with the Old and In with the New

This is an old saying you have probably heard many times.  "Out with the Old and In with the New"

That describes our office this year.  Out with the old ways of doing things and in with the new.  We are open to learning new things and new ways to do business.  I believe that change is something we all should embrace.  Doctors say it will help you to live longer if you embrace change.  So for our office, we are looking at things that did not work or did not work as well as they should have and we are pitching them out!

Our trash cans are overflowing!  We are organizing, re-organizing and becoming even more efficient.  Time is money and the more efficient we can become in our systems, the more profitable we will become as well.  We are looking at how to save steps and save time.  Even if it means changing a system, all is open to change.  We are not set in our ways.  We know the world is changing, technology is expanding, and if we want to stay up to speed, we must allow change to be a part of our lives.

Lots of people say, "We've always done it that way."  So what!  That does not mean it has to be done that way.  Right?  I like to change things up ever so often just to give the office a new look or a new feel.  I even moved agents to different offices, paired them with different people, added extra printers, changed forms, changed training.  Change can be very good.  Don't fear it, enjoy it!

Increasing your income in 2011 is one change we all would like to have.  Plan on it!

Being open to the idea of change is a good thing. We all have things that we can improve on, but if you are unwilling to change you never know what your full potential is. We would be riding horseback or in a wagon if someone would have been willing to change and have others follow.(Thank goodness they made autos- I love a good horse ride, but sure would make a long day for me showing some of the properties I handle).

Good luck with your changes and hope you have a great 2011.

Thanks Tommy,  Hope you have a great 2011 also.  I'm glad for my car too even though I love horses.

Hi Ricki... Change is the only way that progress occurs.  The same efforts typically yield the same results.

"I listen for a living." It's all about you.

Ricki, this is great advice.  Change has been my middle name the last year and this year is no different. Efficiencies can be found in many areas of our industry, especially with the new tools.  One of my goals for this year is to be able to run my entire business, sans the video part, from my cel phone.  Since mobile is so important, shouldn't we be on board with this change?  Great blog Ricki and have a happy and prosperous new year with all the changes in your office.

Ricki I came back to tell you I wrote a blog about you and how sometimes a blog can pinch a nerve. How someone's blog is like "magic" and encourages enthusiasm. I just have to hit that little suggest button.

Hi Larry,  Thanks and I hope all your changes bring in the business.  You definitely deserve it!

Hi Heather,  We feel the same way about you.  You are such a great asset to our office!  Looking forward to 2011 and seeing how all the changes will benefit everyone.

Hi Carl & Ceil,  That is so true, teamwork is where it's at and that's what we have at our office.  I can't wait to go check out your blog.  Thanks so much.
