Up until this morning, I was a Scorpio. I've happily been a Scorpio all my 40 years. In fact, my son and I are BOTH Scorpios and proud of it. However, it appears that the signs, they are a-changin'. According to a newly released Zodiac, I am now a Libra. How can I be a Libra? My husband's a Libra! But, wait. Not anymore! Now, he's a Virgo. Huh?! It shouldn't upset me. But, for some reason, it actually does a little bit.
The newly released Zodiac is based on the location of the constellations. This is the Eastern way of looking at astrology, which is called Sidereal. Since the constellations have shifted over the years due to the earth's "precession" (the wobbling that happens as it rotates on its axis), the constellations of the original Zodiac have moved slightly to the west, causing a whole new 13th category to be designated: Ophiuchus.
The Western way of looking at astrology is not through the constellations, but through the Zodiac, which is based on seasons. So, I think I'll stick with my Western way of things for this one.

Capricorn - December 22 to January 20
Aquarius - January 20 to February 19
Pisces - February 19 to March 20
Aries - March 20 to April 20
Taurus - April 20 to May 21
