One reason Why Short sales are taking so Long

Buyers, sellers, real estate professionals and others are all wondering why short sale negotiations are taking so long!!  It is especially annoying because in most instances the lender already has a number that they are willing to accept for a particular property.  One reason that short sale negotiations are taking so long is that lenders are assigning the negotiations and document preparation to third party servicing firms that are paid HOURLY. It is in their best interests to delay, delay delay.  Unfortunately this trend may not end soon but at least it is an explanation!

I am going to address another annoying aspect of why so many loan modifications are unsuccessful and why they take so long...

Geez! Didn't know this, but it does explain it. Thanks and looking forward to the loan modification explanation that is causing so many short sale situations.

It has been the same every time in the past with short sales.

If the responses were more rapid I'm certain their days would be more pleasant as conversations would go very differently.

Paddy some of the bigger banks like B of A and WellFargo/Wacohvia have their owm employees who are rewarded to close certain number of files per month.

For many of my clients... delay is in their best interests as well.  Given the right short sale team, the SS doesn't take long at all when processed properly (no I don't mean sending in the paperwork and waiting).
