Friday - Honey DO for the Weekend -- 52 weeks  -- Tracy CA

Things to do this weekend to maintain your Tracy CA Home...

Maintaining your Tracy CA property is KEY to getting top dollar when it's time to sell your Tracy, CA home.   If you take care of your house, your house will take care of you.

Every Friday I will have a list of little projects that should be done NOW. Some will print this and make it into a HONEY DO list, for some of you ---- YOU are the Honey that gets to do!

1) Clean your carpets.

Mark Irvin, Classic Carpet Care -

Vacumming on a regular basis will help prolong the life of your carpet, cleaning it every 12 -1 8 months will do wonders.  I recommend Mark Irwin with Classic Carpet Care in Tracy, CA.  He's phenomenal.  The product he uses is DRY in less than 30 minutes.  I know I didn't believe it either, but it works.  He has gotten some of the worse stains out of carpets for me.  Call me and I'll be happy to give you Mark's contact information.

2)  Since it's January 14th already this perhaps should have been the first thing..... disneyland holiday lightsTake down those holiday lights, pack them away and store them for next year.  Yes, I know how long they took to put up, and I know it's pain to take them down.  However no amount of Valentine Day Hearts, Easter Eggs, 4 of July Flags, will hide the fact that you didn't take down your Christmas lights.

3)  Trees- some of you live in snow country, fortunately we in northern ca don't get snow.  We do get some freezing temperatures, but nothing like the rest of the country.  That does not negate the fact that trees should be checked NOW for virus, bugs, broken branches, etc.  Most tree trimming companies charge less when there are no leaves on the tree.  It'll be so much easier to trim those trees now, than wish you had next fall when leaves are everywhere.

4) For those of us in Northern CA, January 1 is THE DAY you are supposed to prune your roses.  I forgot to do this last year, and my roses were scraggely all year long.  Cut them back as far as you want.  Roses grow like weeds in the Central Valley, you can hardly kill them.

There, only 4 simple things to do this weekend, after 52 weeks your home will be well maintained.

Remember if you need Mark Irwin's at Classic Carpet Care, phone number call or email me I'll be happy to refer you.

Happy Maintaining.

I'll bet I can prune my roses now also!  They grow like weeds here in Portland too.  Nice way to organize a series of blogs!

Good advice -- we're on the same wave length!  I just did my rose pruning and tree trimming two weekends ago and then last weekend all the snow hit.  I was really glad to have taken care of all that ahead of time!

I love these kind of post that relate to what a home owner must do at certain times of the year. These kind of things help keep people organized and get things done better. Thanks.

Alexandra - Yep I'll be in Portland you can prune your roses.

Chrisina - yes roses are all whacked down

Melanid- No snow were, ever, but it does get rainy and cold  -- in the 40's.  I know it's funny to think of 40 as COLD.

Patick - You're welcome - every friday now through 2012 there will be a tip fo the weekend.
