The Color Of Winter In Lake Ridge

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Executives
Lake Ridge sits along the shore of the 2,100 acre Occoquan Reservoir. It is very unusual to see it frozen as hard over as wide an area as revealed in this photo. However, we have had temperatures in the 20°F range for the past two weeks or so.

Yesterday I drove down to the boat launch ramp to see what effect it had on the Canada Geese. They were way offshore in a sunny section mid-reservoir that had not frozen.

In either case, I took the first photo from the deck of the park concessions stand. When I got home and PhotoShop'd it I realized it had more color than you normally notice as you drive down a street in the winter months.

I did snap a photo of our feathered friends and they are doing quite well, thank you. I do believe it is part of God's plan for them.

Karen,

These are gorgeous photos.  They just make me realize how wonderful all the seasons are.  I do look forward to Spring, but I enjoy the day we have! Thanks.

Very nice, I always love all the trees when I visit the east coat -whether its summer or winter.  We are so much more wide open here.

Karen,

I always appreciate your photography.  Your comments on the geese reminded me of the words Jesus spoke to his disciples in Matt 6: 26-31
