What a perfect weekend. Oh yes there is football also.

There she is .... Miss America- my dirtly little secret
Tonight.... 6:00 in Las Vegas the Miss America Pageant will be on.
Ever since I was a little tiny girl I've loved watching this contest.
Now, don't get started on why this is explotation of women or not. Whether you believe it or not there is a fundamental difference between the Miss America Pageant and Miss Universe Pageant.
1) Miss America gives no PRIZE MONEY, they only give scholarships.
Miss USA only gives prize money and is produced by the Trump organization.
2) Miss America contestants are judged also on TALENT.
Miss USA contestants are judged on looks and the illustrious question.
3) Miss America stops at Miss America
Miss USA goes on to compete in the Miss Universe pageant which has contestents from all over the world.
Every year I have a party, complete with evening gowns, sashes and tiaras. Truthfully, I'm the only one who ever wears a tiara and evening gown to the party, this year I'm making everyone a sash.
I was born a LONG LONG LONG time ago.
In those days the Miss America pageant was always on the 2nd weekend of September, that year the pageant happened to fall on the night I was born. The family Lore states that Mom wanted to watch Miss America, Dad wanted to watch Purdue Football on TV and Hurrican Grace blew into Charleston, South Carolina knocking out the power, I came along shortly there after. (For those that know me who have ever wondered why I'm a force to be reconned with, now you know.)
Ever since then my Mom, Grandma and I would watch Miss America and they always told me the show was on just for me.
Someday I'll attend the pageant in person. It'll be easier to attend since the even was moved to Las Vegas instead of Atlantic City.... someday this item will be checked off my bucket list.
Ok, I've got to go get the pink "mommy juice" ready for the party, you know the juice that when the kids ask for a sip you say, "NO, that's Mommy's juice."
Watch tonight, let me know who your favorite is... root for your state... piece of trivia....
