I finally have a solution for holding all my artwork in my warehouse. A couple months ago I asked AR Stagers how they stored their artwork as I was moving my warehouse and trying to get more organized.
Propping the artwork along the wall just wasn't working. It took up too much valuable wall space that my smaller warehouse wouldn't have, and items were getting scratched and broken.
Thanks to the many suggestions, I combined different thoughts and ideas and had a handyman build the unit below. It is a free standing piece in the middle of the warehouse, thus not taking up valuable wall space.
It is two pieces secured together but if I ever need to move I can take the securing pieces off and have two smaller units to move. It is just 2x4s and plywood. It's a warehouse......it doesn't have to be pretty, just functional.
The top shelves hold the smaller pictures, then down to medium size and large pieces on the bottom. A couple very large pieces are laying on the very top and the EXTRA large pieces are propped against one wall.
The pictures are also organized by character if appropriate such as bathroom, kitchen, mirrors, clocks, etc. The entire cost for this was only $235 including materials and labor. I love it!
If some of you are still trying to decide how to store your artwork, I hope this helps. And thanks to everyone who gave me ideas!
