Have you been thinking about adding a little curb appeal to your Wrightsville Beach NC home?  Ready to get it on the market and just need to add a little punch to the yard?  Or maybe you just moved in and need to add a little something.  Your Wrightsville Beach NC real estate expert has a deal to share with you!                                                                                                                       

One of the best programs I've had the good fortune to participate in is baaaack!  It's the Annual Wilmington NC TreeFest!

Here's how it works -- you go to Independence Mall on Friday January 21 or Saturday 22, 2011 between 10a and 6p, show that you are a New Hanover County NC resident and they give you 5 tree saplings for your yard.  FREE!  That's it.  All you have to do.  Want to hear more?  Good, 'cause I want to tell you more!

From the New Hanover County NC website:

Ten thousand tree seedlings will be available this year.  Tree species include: Atlantic white cedar, Bald cypress, Black gum, Black walnut, Butternut, Catalpa, Chinese chestnut, Eastern redbud, Eastern red cedar, Kousa dogwood, Overcup oak, Persimmon, Southern crabapple, Southern red oak, Swamp chestnut oak, Wax myrtle and Willow oak. Please note:  species availability is subject to change without notice and trees are available first come, first serve.

There will be experts on hand to help you decide which trees will work best in your yard and where.  The trees should be planted the same weekend you pick them up -- so plan a little time into your weekend for planting! 

Can you beat that?  I don't think so.  The program is funded by the donations received during TreeFest each year.  They do request a $3 per household donation so that the program can continue next year.  Though you don't have to do it, it certainly sounds fair to me!  

TreeFest takes place at the JC Penney end court of Independence Mall in Wilmington NC.  Hours are 10a ~ 6p, or until the trees run out.  I can tell you from experience -- get there early on Friday if you can!  Independence Mall is located at 3500 Oleander Drive Wilmington NC  28403.
