Putting Agent Contact Info in Public Remarks

By
Real Estate Agent with Lake and Lodge Realty LLC

Our small Board of Realtors in it's infinite wisdom joined a large MLS site called SWMRIC, which was going to allow our agents access to the listings for most of the Western half of the Lower Peninsula here in Michigan. Sounds great on the surface but one minor detail. While all of these Boards have shared access to listings they still have their own rules. In our Board we do not allow Agent Contact info in the public remarks section of the listing but in a few of the Southern Boards it is fine. So if I send my client a listing sheet from their Board it shows the contact info for the list agent in the remarks. NOT HAPPENING!!! I understand it may be within their rules but how many agents are going to send that stat sheet to their clients? I would think in trying to sell their listings as efficiently as possible the list agent would do everything possible to sell the home....like making sure everyone would want to help sell it. I may be wrong but I work to hard to get my clients to give them away so if you have your contact info in the public remarks section we won't have to worry...because my clients will never see it. Any thoughts?

Randy: I'm in complete agreement with you. Were a no agent-broker information MLS here in Des Moines and it makes a lot of sense to me.

Very strange that they would allow that!  I wonder what the thinking behind doing that was??

Randy, that does sound a bit weird, I would not like that either.   In Denver, we have TWO types of listings, one for the buyers, and one for the broker (which has more info for us).    With the buyer form, it BRANDS the agent when you send them listings!   Good luck!
