Become a Master Communicator

"Getting the right answers is only possible

when you have asked the right questions."

Michael E. Angier. Founder of Successnet

As I see it . . . . . . .

Become a master communicator

Getting the right answers . . . . and gathering the right information puts a master communicator in control of the conversations.

The foundation of getting the right answers is asking the right questions and proactive listening.

Effective communications is in the ability to ask the right questions to accumulate information. The information that we accumulate will   give us the ability to evaluate the situation and better understand the person that your communication with.

The person with the most information has strategic advantage and controls the communications.

Asking the right questions becomes a process of proactive communications. When we apply the 80 - 20 rule of proactive listening we become a master communicator.

The 80 - 20 rule of proactive listening, is to listen 80% of the time.  To listen with a purpose, listen with interest, and listen to gather information.

The master communicator remains in control of the conversation through their listening skills. They keep accumulating information that keeps them in control of the situation and the information the information flow.

The information they are receiving becomes a strategic resource in creating a strategic advantage.

By effectively using the 20% rule of speaking and asking the right questions we gather the right information by asking the right questions.

By listening 80% of the time we show interest in the person we're communicating with. Being a proactive listener puts you in the position of having the understanding and the knowledge of the person or situation, and will enable you to help the other person reach their objective.

Getting the right answers is the key to effective communication, successful business practices and is imperative to successful negotiations.

Become a master communicator and you will create a strategic advantage in the communications.

Lou,

This makes so much common sense, most people don't think about it. I wish journalists could do this better.

Lou, thanks for the advise.  I sometimes notice that letting clients talk too much will allow them to begin to feel they are the expert in the real estate transaction, sometimes leaving them to convince themselves of things without your interference.  The 20% of very essential and must be efficient enough to underline your position as the professional in transactions, a professional listener with knowledge and not just a listener par excellence.  Thanks again for the point.  Jark.
