When we work with Buyers, we're often asked, why are they selling? There are many reasons why Sellers are Selling Their Homes. First, we usually don't have insider information such as why a seller is selling. In our area, there could be anywhere from 15,000 to 20,000 homes available for sale at any given moment. A listing agent will protect their clients and not disclose why a seller is selling unless it is helpful to the seller to disclose that information and the seller gives their approval.
There are many Reasons Why a Seller is Selling their Home. Once of those Reasons may be to Downsize from their existing home. You might wonder, why someone would want to downsize.
Interestingly enough, there are several reasons. This past year alone, I encountered a few sellers who downsized for the following reasons:
•1. Preparing for a potential job loss
•2. So wife could stay home with children
•3. Home was too much for them to keep up.
•4. Wanted lower utility bills.
•5. No need for such a large home.
There are many other reasons one might want to downsize. This economy isn't the best economy to sell a home and buy a less expensive home unless you must.
