DO-NOT-CALL LIST

Has this ever happened to you? I received a strange call on my cell phone.  It sounded like an older man and he had one thing to say:

"Andrew I am getting unsolicited phone calls from your company.  You'll see my phone number on your message here. You can take it off your list. If not, if I get another call I am turning your name and the name of your company in to the Missouri Attorney Gereral's office. I am on the no call list just to let you know."

Maybe random mistake.  I have never done business in Missori from Countrywide, nor my mortgage company.  Even so. My methods are Refferal and mail which are kept local to California.  Now while I can do loans in other states I do not solicit direct.  Just strange!   I will forward the message to my company and insure CW has him off the list.  But it's a Catch 22 because I ca not call him to say he is mistaken I do not think.  Even if I can I do not want to piss him off.

Definately between a rock and a hard place, Andrew!  The Do Not Call List is not something you want to mess with, though, they take that very seriously...That man would have to prove that the calls were coming from you and if you know that there are no calls coming from your number, that would be impossible for him to do, right? Good luck!

I have heard some frightening things about companies being fined.

Why don't we have a "do call" list, instead?

If the law says that nobody can make unsolicited business phone calls to a stranger, except those who express they are delighted to receive one.  Well, that will save everyone's time to file in his name on the "do not call" list.

I don't know why we make a principle an exception and make an exception a principle, to keep everybody busy in filing and fighting?   Are here some fun or money in it, just as we don't honor British principle of lawsuit?

Andrew,

Pirating your number to make calls.....some people go to many length to make others look bad.  The good get precieved bad because of nothing they did.

I agree with Ed for the 'do call' list to make things a bit easier.  You're right, don't even call to aplogize.
