Protect Your Cell Phone Data--For FREE

Services for Real Estate Pros with Advance Realty USA

Do you worry about what could happen if someone ever took your cell phone?  The amount of data that we store on them these days could be very valuable to a thief.  Cell phones are the #1 portable internet device and with smart phones having download capability with 'apps' viruses and hacking are a growing concern. This has given rise to a new market for mobile security and the app I use to protect my cell phone and my mobile data is Lookout.

Lookout mobile security

This award winning app protects your cell phone from viruses, backs up your data, contacts, and even your photos and call history if you upgrade to premium for $2.99/month or $29.99/year. With the software you can lock it remotely to prevent access if you misplace it or it's stolen and it won't work even it someone replaces the sim card.  You can also cause it to 'scream' which emits a loud siren like sound to draw attention to it so you can easily find it if misplaced or use the GPS tracking feature to find it.  If you drop your cell phone in a pool and your data has been backed up, you can install Lookout on your new phone, and just download all your old data.

Currently available on Android, Blackberry and Windows Mobile, PC World calls this app a 'must have'.  Click this link to see how Lookout helped to catch a phone thief red handed.

Michelle, this is great information.  I had my blackberry stolen while I was coming home from California.  I got off the plane in Newark and before I had entered the waiting area to board my next flight someone had picked my purse and stolen my phone.  I was really worried about sensitive information in my phone, this would have been great information to have.  Thanks.

So sorry to hear that June!  Well at least you won't have to worry if it should ever happen again.

one of the good parts of a blackberry is the blackberry desk top.. I use my laptop to charge my phone in my office, and it forces me to sync and back it up... Misses out on the other bells and whistles, but at least my data is Ok!
