No Email? No Website? Are You Kidding?

have to agree with you, it's like finding out someone didn't have a fax number after fax machines came out.  I recently just joined a bank with which to do loan thru, and they are very strict on what they want on a business card.  Although they do have email of course, however if you have your own personal website they are not to thrilled and don't want it on your cards.  I was some what surpised considering we are expected to generate our own business.  Not quite sure how to handle, I very much want my website to be out there  Any suggestions?  I am tempted to print my own cards but don't want to start a problem.   By the way, did you have an opportunity to see how those folks were getting their business leads from?

Thanks, Tim 0

No Email? No Website? Are You Kidding?

I attended a trade expo on behalf of the Southern California Chapter of CRS some months ago. As we have done in the past we collected business cards from agents who came by to talk, learn more about the CRS designation, and just talk about the real estate business.

I was going through about 100 cards today to send a follow-up email with information, and noticed 2 cards that truly took me by surprise.

No Email

No Website

Are You Kidding?

How are we supposed to get in touch? There isn't an email or a website!

I had to take a second look, sure that I had missed something. How could you not include your website and your email in this day and age? I would have been less surprised if there had not been a photo.

It didn't seem to be a space issue.

So I wondered? WHY would someone NOT include something as vital as an email address and website? And would others wonder the same thing?

Or am I just too focused on the technology side of things, and email and website information is overkill?

An email address would certainly give buyers and sellers an alternative way to get in touch. And they could learn more from the website.

But perhaps the reasoning is that these agents want consumers only to CALL them, rather than getting in touch via email.

That might work for some people, but I suspect others who are not ready to "talk to an agent" will simply not do anything, including not searching for them on Google. I may be wrong.

Does not having an email address and/or a website on your business card convey something negative these days? Or does it not really matter? It seems like a missed opportunity to me.

And this doesn't even get into the other issues we could discuss vis-à-vis content and look of business cards, including using a photo or not.

What do you include on your business card?

And what do you think about email addresses and websites on business cards?

Hmm, maybe they don't even use email OR have a website?! Is it possible?
