We take Our Fun and Fundraising Seriously...in Seacoast New HampshirePenguin Plunge

The 12th Annual Hampton Beach Penguin Plunge Fundraiser Event on February 6, 2011 helps raise awareness and support for the athletes of Special Olympics New Hampshire. This is the New Hampshire Chapter of the Special Olympics started by Eunice Kennedy Shriver on July 20, 1968 in Chicago. Today non-profit Special Olympics New Hampshire helps 3,500 intellectually challenged children and adults train and compete in state and national athletic events.

Think you know what a Penguin Plunge is all about? Yeah, you probably do. Its your most frigid nightmare, but hey, its for a good cause.

I've never been, but I imagine it is something to see.  No chance of me taking the plunge...that water is too cold in August for me, LOL!

Sharon - Me too! I love the Seacoast, but the water is too cold for me anytime of the year. I'm a big fan of 88 degs in my pool. I really appreciate what these people do to make this a fun event.

Looks like a good event as long as I am not plunging. Be sure to post some pictures!

This looks like a great event and a worth cause....but I think I'll have to skip the plunge, it's a little cold for me too.

Hi Larry - We live in New England, so we expect it to be cold in the winter, but this goes beyond frigid.

John, What a fun event. The only way I would enjoy being a “frozen people having fun” would be this … an event that is for the benefit of others.

Kathleen - Its cold enough for me just being a spectator. I think it is a bit like psyching yourself up to walk across a fire pit. Yikes!

Just stopping by to wish you a great weekend. We have a sunny but very windy day in Maryland.

Roy - Thanks for stopping by. Its quite windy here as well. We even lost power last night. Didn't mind that too much. I finished the cooking on the gas grill and we dined by candlelight. Hope your weekend is great too!
