ZIPskinny Anyone?

Made you look! Here's a new site I found for demographic information.  It's called ZIPskinny.  You enter a zip code and it will compare demographics with surrounding zip codes.  I'm not sure where they get their information but it's interesting. So go ahead and get the skinny on that zip!

This source should not be used for making decisions regarding housing. The sample sizes skew some of the data, plus it is 2000 Census information not updated to the present. A lot of things change in 7 years.

I'm wondering since its in BETA if they will be improving their data sources?

I want to second the comment that ZIPskinny should NOT be used for decisions regarding housing.

(And I'm the guy that built the site!)

It's based on 2000 Census data as David correctly points out, and ZIP codes are designed for delivering mail, not tracking populations.

I built it as a project to sharpen my Web development skills, and I do think it provides an interesting "first glance."

But it is intended to be just that...an interesting first glance. It is not a substitute for the hard work of getting to known an area well.

Pretty Cool site, I found this on the site to let you know where they got their information from:

This site was created as a Web development "hobby" project using Census 2000 data obtained from the Census website.
