MY dog, Mikey, is a Rainmaker! A few months ago, I listened to this voicemail: "Hi Virginia! I am a US Diplomat stationed overseas and I have been reading your blog. We are pet lovers and see that you are, too, so we thought you would be the right real estate agent to help us find a home in Mesquite when we get there."
They were reading my AR outside blog, Mesquite Nevada Real Estate Blog.
I opened escrow this morning on their home with the big fenced back yard in this Mesquite neighborhood with no HOA fees - just what they wanted!
They noticed that I had a lot of info on the internet about houses and neighborhoods in Mesquite - but they picked me because I have written about my little dog. It made them think that we would work well together.
I have written about our pet friendly neighborhoods and walking trails and have a few pictures of Mikey at some of the pet friendly parks in Mesquite. The home that ActiveMikey sold is close to several parks and he will be getting some new playmates to hang out with.
And he will probably be expecting a special lunch when I get that next Raincheck.
And I know that look.
Mikey is thinking that he deserves his own little office.
I already made him his own little QR code that links to the post I wrote about him when he was sick.
Did you know that if you shorten the url before you make the QR Code, the graphic is simpler and easier for a smart phone camera to read?
I took Steven Graham's Rainmaker seminar last week - Steven smells funny but he sure knows his stuff! And I have been reading Bob Stewart's posts on outside blogs and writing localism posts. You must write about neighborhoods and listings, using the keyword techniques and linking strategies - that is how people will find your blog.
But when they get there - let them get to know you a little bit.
And get a dog.
