It's time for the 5th Annual Carol Stream German Oktoberfest!!!
- When: Saturday, September 29, 2007 from 3-9pm
Where: Ross Ferraro Town Center ~ Located at the corners of Gary Ave. & Lies Rd.
This FREE event is designed to model a traditional Oktoberfest. The festival features numerous activities for kids and adults. Kids can enjoy games, crafts and live music while the adults can enjoy the German food, dancing, late night music and the tapping of the offical Oktoberfest Keg.
This year the event starts at 3pm with kid's programs that include professional stiltwalkers, jugglers and a balloon artist. In addition, there will also be a hay wagon tractor ride, kids games and crafts. The Village Tavern & Gill is this year's food vendor and will be serving traditional German main dishes, sides and desserts beginning at 4pm. The German meals will include brats, Weiner Schnitzel, German potato salad, sauerkraut and desserts like apple strudel and German chocolate cake.
The local Rotary will begin serving imported German and domestic beers from the Oktoberfest beer garden starting at 3 pm. The entertainment will include music from Chicagoland's finest Bavarian band...The Musikmeisters. They will be performing from 5:30-8:30. Join the local officials for the Tapping of the Oktoberfest Keg at 5:30pm.
