The Palm Springs CA area experienced a fairly nice little lift to finish off the year. December 2010 reversed the slight inventory increase we had in November. Total properties for sale fell to 7,415 a drop of 285. While 837 properties went under contract - this was an increase over November. Sales activity in the 7 major cities of the Coachella Valley had 739 homes sold - an increase of 81 units over November 2010 and our very best month since June 2010. Other important statistics show the fewest number of new listings coming on of any month in 2010 - just 1,184 new listings. This helped contribute to the 7.9 "Months Supply of Inventory", the lowest number of any month since July 2010. Median Sales price of $195,000 was the highest since July of 2010.
Keeping things in perspective these were modest gains but in a snapshot of the whole year seeing more good signs than bad ones bfelt pretty good.
