With a fabulous selection of baked goods, one would wonder if you'll ever even get to the menu. Well, lucky for me I ordered before I actually walked into the place, so I was impervious to the delicious display. A fact that I am terribly grateful for, because what I found in their regular food menu was absolutely delectable.
BOWL OF OUR FAMOUS CHILI
(This really sounds delicious. Not only am I a chili-girl at heart, but I've often wished I could go back in time to dine at The Brown Derby. Maybe it was after seeing the "I Love Lucy" episode where she sees William Holden, and of course, makes a complete fool of herself. Flaming nose-putty, anyone?)
Based on the original 1930’s brown derby chili recipe of 17 ingredients, but amped up with 8 new ingredients including wild honey, dried ancho, guajillo & california chilies. Garnished with cheddar cheese, sour cream, diced red onion, and parsley.
LOBSTER GRILLED CHEESE (pictured)
Lobster, lots of brie cheese, grainy mustard mayo & tarragon grilled with cheddar cheese on white country bread.
MAHI MAHI TACOS WITH MANGO SALSA
Three Flour tortillas filled with grilled mahi mahi, Chipotle ranch, fresh baja slaw with lime vinaigrette, mango salsa
And their TUNA sandwich?!!!! Get out of here.
The tuna salad actually has little diced bits of green apple. An absolute stroke of genius, I say.
Their drink menu offers everything from Kumbucha to a Belgian white chocolate espresso.
BREAKFAST PIE
A slice of farm fresh morning pie made with eggs, fresh market vegetables & snipped herbs, cheddar & mozzarella cheese.
Everything this place makes has just a touch of special in it. I haven't had a disappointing meal yet. And the service? PERFECT.
