Once when my husband and I were dating…he said to me (with confidence), “honey, the world doesn’t revolve around you”. And my response (said with equal confidence), “sure it does and if you get a little closer to me, it will revolve around you too!” And so, he began to teach me to think more about others…big task since I was the baby of my family and spoiled rotten.
Improvements have been made for sure but still plenty of room for more. Dan and Amy Shuman wrote a post titled “Are you Turning Off Your Subscribers” that got me thinking and more importantly acting.
Today, I went through and sent a personal email to several of my newest subscribers. If they think I’m worth subscribing to, then it should be worth it to me to acknowledge that vote of confidence.
Wednesday I went to my quarterly Bible Study Fellowship luncheon hosted by one of our peeps in the group. And I just sent her a hand written note thanking her for hosting (Lord knows, I don’t want to have to clean and bake!)
On Thursday, it snowed a bunch here in Indy and my husband ALWAYS has to shovel. But I was done with my tasks for the day at about 4:00 and was able to shovel 75% of the driveway before he got home. He was so thankful.
Paying it forward by just saying thank you is easy and available every day. While I am still hoping to post a great story with a great impact…I am thankful that I have an opportunity every day to pay it forward even in a small way.
