I know we just celebrated Martin Luther King Jr Day on Monday, but I still wanted to share some of my favorite quotes from this magnificent man.
"Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase."
"History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people."
"I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear."
"If a man hasn't discovered something that he will die for, he isn't fit to live."
"Everything that we see is a shadow cast by that which we do not see."
And, of course...
"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
On August 28, 2011, the Martin Luther King Jr Memorial will be dedicated in Washington DC. For more info about the construction and dedication, please visit the Martin Luther King Jr Memorial website.
