Crowdsourcing has been in the media a bit lately. If you haven't heard the word previously, crowdsourcing is the use of a group of people coming together to gain purchasing power e.g. Groupon. I'm sure the words crowdsourcing and Groupon will be newly added words in the next version of a dictionary. The procee is similar to Walmart but on a smaller scale where individuals purchase large quantity of goods at a discount.
Crowdsourcing is also used to brainstorm in a common setting to solve a problem. At Dallas Raincamp 2010, Brad Andersohn provided an example of crowdsourcing. The organization that he shared was 99designs.com, a company that has multiple individuals bidding to produce a specific logo.
In the real estate industry, crowdsourcing can be utilized to produce marketing materials, logo design, and in the hiring process (Linkedin). I've been contemplating how I can utilize crowdsourcing in conjunction with social networking such at Facebook, to aid in buying and selling real estate. Any ideas?
