Sandy Springs Georgia is a great real estate locationin which to invest. The community is just minutes north of downtown Atlanta and only a 20 to 30 minute drive to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (the busiest in the United States). Sandy Springs offers a diverse variety of homes, townhomes, condos, and apartments in which to live. The city also includes convenient access to the MARTA train station (several in fact) MARTA bus lines, GA400 and Interstate 285; the loop around Atlanta. Can it be a busy community; yes and sometimes the traffic is a bit of a mess but it is still a great location.
There are a number of private schools in and close to Sandy Springs, but the suburb has two of the most outstanding High Schools in the state; Riverwood and North Springs. Both are Charter Schools in the state of Georgia. Riverwood offers a Baccalaureate Program and an International Program for students. North Springs is a magnet school for the Arts, Music, Math and Science. Both schools graduate students that go on to most of the top colleges in the United States.
Once Sandy Springs became its own community, a ground-swell of enthusiasm created one of the best and most comprehensive open-space and Park Programs in the metro-area. Recent dedication of the city's crown jewel: Morgan's Landing Park turned out to be a masterpiece situated along the Chattahoochee River. The community is also developing one of the country's most impressive Linear Parks along and beside a very busy street used by thousands of commuters daily; a calming effect perhaps!
Housing options range from inexpensive apartments to multi-million dollar estates and everything in between. Average single-family home prices in North Sandy Springs are typically in the mid-$400,000 range while homes in Lower Sandy Springs can average a much higher pricetag. Homes are a bit older in this part of Atlanta-metro, but have been very well maintained.
Great variety of home choices, wonderful High School programs, convenient access to Atlanta commutes and a vibrant shopping community should interest a number of homebuyers!
