The number of new listings increased a bit in Blaine, Minnesota through 2010 as did the average sales price. Blaine’s high valued home market in prices $500,000 showed a bit of movement this year and lender mediated foreclosure/short sale homes in the lower price points that worked their way through the system didn’t affect the average sales price as drastically as in the past two years. Closed sales are down for Blaine in 2010 over 2009 but real estate is continuing to sell. Listings are not staying on the market as long as in previous years with an average market time of 112 days. Blaine has sold through most of its current home inventory as it was an affordable option for buyers in the north metro homebuyer. With low levels of inventory in the lower price points, 2010 might be the year for a traditional seller with a starter home to have the opportunity to move up in Blaine, Minnesota.
