Baltimore City Restaurant Week - January 21 - January 30, 2011
Twice a year Baltimore celebrates Restaurant Week. It is held in the winter and again in the summer. You can get a 3 course dinner for just $35.10 or a 3 course lunch for $20.10. The price does not include liquor and some restrictions may apply.
Restaurant Week runs from January 21 through January 30, 2011. There are over 90 restaurants participating in this event. Check the list before you go, some restaurants that have participating in the past are not participating this time around. Some of my favorites are Cafe Hon in Hampden. This is a quaint local restaurant where the beehive is queen. The menu has a lot of choices but leave room for dessert. Desserts are freshly made and awesome. I particularly like their home made pies.
Another of my favorites is Della Notte in Little Italy. One of my clients often takes me here for lunch when we are working on a deal. I like their pizza with anchovies, fresh tomatoes and basil, yummy. Parking in the lot behind Della Notte is limited but there are other lots near by. At dinner time you'll definitely want to make reservations here.
I have also had lunch at Sotto Sopra in Mount Vernon. This is a lovely Italian restaurant with a great atmosphere and nice wine list.
Ruth Chris Steakhouse is always a favorite and they do have valet parking. Then afterwards take a walk along the water. But during this event many city garages have special pricing for parking.
There are so many restaurants to choose from. You could eat at a different one every day for lunch and a different one for dinner and still not exhaust the list. But, it is also a great time to try out a restaurant you've been wanting to eat at but haven't yet. For a complete list visit: http://www.baltimorerestaurantweek.com/ and enjoy!!
Enjoy a variety of three-course dinners, in just about any cuisine that strikes your fancy, for only $35.10. Or try three-course lunches at select restaurants for just $20.10. Also this winter, many restaurants will also offer special culinary experiences, such as wine pairings, cooking classes, tasting menus and more. Plus, the savings don't have to stop after dinner.
This winter, restaurants participating in Baltimore Restaurant Week have committed to support The Journey Home, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake's plan to make homelessness rare and brief. Every night, nearly 3,400 people experience homelessness, and, through The Journey Home, those who are homeless can be moved to permanent and supportive homes.
At participating restaurants, you will find donation boxes for The Journey Home. We ask that while you are out enjoying Baltimore Restaurant Week that you join Visit Baltimore, Downtown Partnership, United Way, the restaurants and Mayor Rawlings-Blake in supporting this effort with a kind donation. For more information on The Journey Home, to volunteer or make a donation online, please visit www.endinten.org.
