Now, I've never been to Florida before, but I had heard all about it from friends that had "turned" Snow Birds. I expected it to be warmer, and it was. I expected to see a lot of Seniors, and I did. I expected there to be great seafood, and there was....
What I didn't expect was the brilliant sunshine--- almost every day. I didn't expect to be thrilled by the sight and sound of the surf again, but I was. And I didn't expect to fall in love with the Florida experience, but I did.
It was everything I had hoped it would be. I knew I wasn't in "Kansas" anymore.
I felt a child's excitement watching the Dolphins swim close to shore from the deck of the condo. I loved watching the Pelicans swoop and dive for their supper. I heard the most beautiful music from a songbird nearby. I hunted for shells and shark's teeth and got sand between my toes. I watched the sun come up and I watched it set. And, one night I got up just to moon gaze and watch it's light shimmer on the water. Now that, my husband thought was a little crazy. And maybe I am....Crazy about Florida in the Winter
