Will the State of the Union Address Boost the Market???

Will the State of the Union Address Boost the Market??? With a Democratic Senate, Republican Congress, and Tea spillingall over the place can Obama's 2011 State of the Union Address cross the isles of divide and put forth some clarity for a plan for the coming year? I sure hope so. It seems that last two years have been a time of pulling the economy out of the dark depths of recession and now its time to stop talking about what bailouts and spending prevented and what spending will create.

I think the majority of us can agree that we are in a better place as a country than we were two years ago but we need a road map fast, before we get lost again. We have to raise the debt ceiling to pay for programs, but everyone cries cut the budget spending is out of control. We need to fix the housing market, but there isn't any job creation. The country needs to work together to fix things but Congress and the Senate only vote the way of the party. If its truly public service why the private jets and pensions?

I'm hoping that after tonight's rhetoric, tonight's standing and clapping and all the festival of suits we will have at least a rough road map for the people of this country to believe in.

It could put people to bed earlier tonight so everyone wakes up rested for a great day of work Wed.  For us New Englanders an early night to bed will help get us well rested to shovel out of this next storm coming

I am so happy to read someone who actually believes the country is in a better place today than it was two years ago. I agree completely.

Thank you for the comments, I appreciate it.

I'm on board with the positive attitude Virginia. Unemployment is a lagging economic indicator and I really think the new normal will be about 6.5% or 7% unemployment. As things become automated and outsourced that's the wave of the future.

We have a pretty positive market in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC. According to this morning's news, the DC area is experiencing the fasted recovery in the country.

The colors of winter in Maryland. Life is good!

"tonight's rhetoric, tonight's standing and clapping and all the festival of suits".. love it John!  Well put... for things to change, people's opinions of "entitlement" must change!  I see it dropping off lately, even with our chilly months!  Good to see...
