HOW DO YOU TRAIN FOR YOUR GAME?
I am in my final week of training for a big race this weekend. As I reflect on the training that I have done for this race, I began evaluating and comparing how I train for my other race - REAL ESTATE.
There are many correlations between training for an athletic event and being prepared in our businesses. These are a few of the main TRAINING TIPS for your preparation whether it is an athletic goal or business.
FOCUS - you have to be able to envision the finish line. Whatever that finish line may be, you must set your focus on that goal and NOT let it slip away.
DETERMINATION - is your MIND set to to reach your goal? It is simply too easy to find an excuse to NOT do something. YOU have to determine that you WILL succeed.
COMMITMENT- if you have not made a true commitment to your goal, you will surely find yourself making excuses for why you didn't do something. Get an accountability partner to keep you true to your commitments.
CONSISTENCY - a consistent game plan is paramount! You cannot possibly reach a long-term goal without remaining steady and strong. Stick to the plan no matter what.
DISCIPLINE - and of course there is the most important point of all, being disciplined. There is no way I could ever succeed in running distance races without being completely disciplined. Eating right, resting, training and follow through. Isn't it the same for our businesses?
So what is your TRAINING PLAN? If you are truly ready to hit your goals in whatever you have set for yourself, get serious about TRAINING FOR YOUR GAME.
