The primary objectives for the Keep Your Home California include the following:
Preserving home ownership for low and moderate income homeowners in California by reducing the number of delinquencies and preventing avoidable foreclosures.
Assisting in stabilizing California communities
The program will help homeowners keep their homes if they have suffered a financial hardship or have unemployment issues. Death, illness, disability etc. If your mortgage is due to increase and are risking default because you can not afford the new increased payment, help may also be available. Property values have decreased significantly and many homeowners are facing payments on a property that is worth less than they owe. This is a huge isssue for many homeowners and you are not alone.
The only downside of this program is that your mortgage services has to agree to participate. If they are not participating, call and encourage them to do so.
