Unlocking Doors & Building Relationships

By

Getting to know new people and introducing them to our great Olympia/Tumwater area is lots of work along with lots of gratification!  That first meeting brings some trepidation as I ponder how we will "click" when we spend hours together in my car with the goal of making a huge decision about where they retire.

The couple is a breath of fresh air.  They are reasonable and personable; two traits that go a long way in making home tours a positive experience.  Moving from back east, our house prices are high to them.  Due to health concerns ramblers with few steps involved were the focus.  Both are interested in a larger lot with a fence for their family pet, a friendly Rottweiler.  (He was left at home by the way: phew!)

I like to use the opportunity as we drive to point out interesting landmarks and to find out more about the client's lifestyle and personality.  In this case, it was obvious that they need a lot of space for storage or they need a total downsize of "stuff" before they move west.  The size of the garage became an important feature as did a fenced backyard for the family pet.

I learned that they chose our area because the one of their four children live here and she is the only one of the four that is married which gives some stability in their opinion.  Good to know.

Unlocking lots of doors for some wonderful new clients was both a joy and a learning experience for all!

Just love showing houses to motivated buyers who communicate all their needs in a new home.:) It sounds like you are a great communicator and ask all the right questions. Good luck with the impending sale!
