Peppermint Tea, by Celestial Seasonings in Boulder Colorado

homes denver to boulder, joetta fort realtorOne of the cool things about living between Denver and Boulder is that Celestial Seasonings is just a short drive away. They have free tours, and I've written about Celestial Seasoning's free tour before. One of the highlights is the opportunity to go into the peppermint room.

The peppermint scent is so strong, they have to keep the huge door tightly shut or it would invade all the other tea leaves. But during the tour they let whoever wants to, to stand in there while they talk about peppermint tea. Some can't even go in, some only for a minute. Me, I rush in and stay until the last minute, breathing deep of the fragrance.

Anyway, I heard a news report yesterday that people who smelled peppermint every two hours consumed on average 2700 calories less. Well, that could be a totally meaningless study in real life, but it's a really great excuse to drink peppermint tea more often.

So I'm drinking my tea, thinking about Celestial Seasonings and all the fun things there are to do in Boulder and even here in my small town of Arvada.

If you're thinking of moving here, call me - let's have a cup of tea (or maybe drink a Coors beer if that's more your style)homes denver to boulder, joetta fort realtor and we'll talk about what a great place this is to live.

Ooooooo, I love peppermint too. I use the Dr. Bronners peppermint soap, really good for dry skin. You are so blessed to have such heavenly scents so close. I am not certain because of allergies and really strong scents setting off asthma, if I could endure the peppermint room. So, worth the effort though. Thanks for such a relaxing post.

Nice post, Joetta - Who wouldn't want to sit down and have a cup of peppermint tea or Coors with you (the way you wrote that just sounded so natural).

I heard green tea was good for less calories.  I love peppermint tea.  I will try some.  Maybe it will help me lose more weight.

Hi Joetta, I heard that about peppermint tea also, and thought it was definitely worth a try!  I'm drinking Celestial Seasonings tea this afternoon, I think it's called Berry Berry - it's berry good :-) Would love to stop in for peppermint tea sometime and meet you, even though I feel like I already know you!

I will have to try that! I also heard peppermint oil is good for a headache (rubbing it on your neck, not drinking it)...

Hi Joetta.  I am drinking hot tea now, but I must admit it is Liptons.  I have never done the tour.  Sounds like great fun.  I will give it a try.

Thanks for stopping by, everyone. I'm sitting here, coughing away the remnants of my cold, and didn't even think of having a cup of soothing peppermint tea until I saw my own post. DOINK!!

Carol - yeah I think that room would do a number on asthma. But just a little tea bag should be OK, right?

Peggy - thanks!  I hope to make people feel that way.

Pat - sniffing peppermint tea every couple of hours certainly can't hurt. Unless you get a sudden craving for chocolate (peppermint + chocolate = one of my all-time fav flavor combos!)

Mary - I know, huh? If you're ever down this way, give me a call!

Sheila - sounds like a lovely way to deal with a headache. Especially if you're doing it for someone you love!

Belinda - I don't know what it is, but I seem to be into tea, almost equal to coffee (and I'm a coffee fanatic!). I like to experiment with flavors, but my hubby sticks with Lipton. Hot or cold, it's Lipton with nothing in it. It must have something going for it, to be around so long!
