How did the Union County NC real estate market fare in 2010 and how did it do compared with 2008 and 2009?
Nearly 2000 single family homes sold in Union County NC in 2010. The number of homes closed dropped slightly from 2008 but was off 16% from 2008. The median sales price of closed homes in Union County was up 2.5% over 2009 but off 7.8% from 2008. The highest priced home sale in 2010 was $2,275,000. Median days on market more than doubled from 2009 to 2010.

The townhome and condominium market is very small in Union County NC. There were 79 townhome sales in 2010, off slightly from 2009. Median sales prices dropped by 9.1%. The highest priced townhome sale was $202,500. Median days on market more than tripled in 2010.

How did the 2010 real estate market in Union County as a whole compare with the market in its small towns?
Three of the small towns listed below showed price increases in 2010: Wesley Chapel, Monroe and Stallings. Marvin had a very slight decrease in median sales price. Waxhaw, Lake Park, Weddington and Indian Trail median closed prices dropped in 2010.
