No Name-Calling Week

I just found this out today and it's almost over but this week was no name-calling week. It's part of the anti-bullying campaign. I don't think that it is getting enough exposure so I wanted to make it the topic of my blog today.

Are your kid's schools participating in this? Did anyone know about this already? Maybe I was the only one in the dark! Anyway I just wanted to share that to help spread the word.

Had no idea about this but I think its a great idea to call attention to the problem. Words can hurt sometimes . Especially our kids. Just a good idea to make you aware of the things you say. Have a great day!

THis is a great blog and a great website. I visit the site to read up more on it. I will pass it on to the school my 10 yrs old attend.

He has encountered problems with an individual in his class who call him a nerd because he wears glasses. Also, because he gets "A" in class.

I did meet with the Student Counsel and she had a talk with the kid. My son told me this morning the kid called him a nerd again.

It is unbelievable how these young kids can do things so hurtful. Where are the parents and why aren't they seeing the signs?

Aryn: Great idea. In our family we severly limit this practice. When you do so and don't hear it often you realize how abrasive, callous, hurtful and unecessary the pratice is. Great post!
