Built as a hotel in 1904, the Victorian-style Woodbine Hotel and Restaurant in Madisonville, Texas is a historical landmark and an active local business. After receiving an e-mail from the Madison County Chamber of Commerce regarding the newly organized C.H.A.R.M. - Citizens Helping to Achieve a Revitalization of Madisonville - I decided to attend the organization's 1st meeting this past Tuesday. Sunny Clouser is enthusiastically leading the group and calling for Madison County residents to join the effort.
There are already a number of civic leaders and community members taking part to help revitalize Madisonville's public image, support local businesses, and increase the visibility of our county's unique features to tourists and visitors. I will be working with Roger Johnson (Convention & Tourism Director) and another member on the "Project Development" board as we explore new ways for the organization to improve our community.
