Cedar City Localism Post...Paragonah....

By
Real Estate Agent with Aubrey and Associates Realty

This localism post isn't a business or and activity, it is a town, Paragonah.  It is the Northern Most Town along Interstate 15 in Iron County.  The Name is pronounced Paragoonah.  It is about 20 miles north of Cedar City, and is a small, quaint area.  It is 4 miles north of Parowan.  I have always loved Paragonah, my Aunt and Uncle lived there when I was a child, and it was always fun to go and visit them.

The name Paragonah is a Native American term that means Water Good or Good Water.  Interestlingly enough, Parowan, means Water Evil or bad.  Parowan got it's name for the Little Salt Lake West of that town.  Paragonah's name must come from the creeks that feed into the Little Salt Lake.  It remains a small town, near the base of the Mountain.

Very nice looking little town, Tony. I guess I didn't realize we still had cute little towns like that around.

Darci and Tony - Interesting information on this charming town. Yellow usually isn't my favorite colorbut it looks great on this home - I guess it all depends on the shade of yellow.

Erika, It helps when one of them is your Mother's home town!

Kristine, I feel the same way about yellow, but it does work on this home.

Juli, it is a fun little town!

What a cool-looking town hall. My other half likes to check out small towns like that, but I need at least a good shopping mall.
