New Camera New Birds

By

Santa brought me a new camera, Panasonic DMC FZ 100, for Christmas.  Along with that he brought a family of new birds that I haven't identified yet but there are about 8 of them that clean my feeder out on a regular basis.  My back yard in Glen Wood in Virginia Beach is really quite busy this time of year.  A bit surprising as I have at least 10 different types feeding at different times and sometimes trying to get there all at once.

At first I wasn't as happy with the pictures as I should be until I looked at the ISO they were taken at.  My old camera would have just turned up a bunch of yellow blotches at these ISOs.  I had the shutter speed cranked up to get the birds.  The first picture was at ISO 400, then 800 and finally 1600.  Pretty impressive for a small sensor camera.

Gene - Nice pictures.  Seems to me that I take more pictures these days now that I do not have to have the pictures developed.  Cameras today are great.  Wonder what they will come up with in the future.

You and your new camera are doing great and I agree with Steve.  These days since we don't have to pay for film development it is more fun to play with our cameras.

Nice shots Gene.  You have to be damn fast when taking birds.
