Invest in Real Estate with your IRA

By
Real Estate Agent with BMC Capital

I recently wrote a post where I mentioned investing in real estate using a self directed IRA, and since then I have received a ton of questions about how this works.  While I am very capable of helping you find, purchase, and manage commercial real estate investments for your IRA, I'm not an IRA custodian and I cannot set up a self directed IRA for you.  I would like to share some resources that I have used to learn more about investing in commercial real estate with an IRA.

Once you have your self directed IRA set up, it's important to follow the IRS rules regarding prohibited transactions.  If you're interested in purchasing commercial real estate in Reading, PA using your self directed IRA, give me a call today.

This is the 1st I have heard about being able to purchase real estate through an IRA. I will have to look into this more. What a great option.

This is defnintely an option, HOWEVER, there are many rules and restrictions which make it more difficult than "normal" investing.  I would strongly recommend talking to the comanies suggested above and asking them for a couple of references so you can talk to someone who is actually investing in their IRA and find out some of the challenges you may face.  Definitely do this before you transfer your IRA.
