Is the Real Estate Maket it's pivoting point?  There is definitely a lot of buzz about that here on the Outer Banks.  Some Say yes and some still have their doubts.  Yet there is definitely an increase in the buzz.  That in itself may be considered a positive sign.  I have also heard similar discussions going on in other parts of the country.   Here is a recent video giving the view of Jed Smith, Managing Director, Quantitative Research with NAR.  Take a look and give us you views.

According to the most recent survey we sold about 1.5 homes per Active Rain members for last year. Not very good but it will pick up. It has too.

I believe it will and we will have a great 2011. I can't express it enogh. I am on other forums and I say the same thing there.

It will pick up and be a great 2011.

Good video and post,

Such news is very local in scope. I know that in some areas I serve there has been a turn-around of sorts, prices are up but volume of sales is not yet, so we'll have to wait and see how 2011 turns out.

I watched the video and I agree with him...Since we are in New England and in the midst of Winter, our market is still slow...we won't get a feel for our Spring market activity until March or April when we have better weather.  The blogs on I reading on AR indicate some good activity in parts of the country and that is very encouraging.

Just north of you in Hampton Roads, I have seen a big uptick in buyer interest.  However, the general market is just bumping along.  The number of foreclosures as a part of the total sales picture have been increasing and that has dampened prices.

Clint - Thank you for the compliment & I too feel that change is in the air for 2011.

William - You are absolutely right. That's why I wanted to see what the other areas were experiencing. Here we are seeing just the opposite. A noticeable increase in activity & transactions, but no definite signs of appreciation yet.

Rene - If your clients start getting sick of the New England cold, advise them to buy a beach house and shoot me a referral.  :)

Kathryn - Many parts of the Outer Banks are in that exact same situation.
