Weddington Middle School is part of the Weddington NC schools cluster of Weddington Elementary School and Weddington High School. All three schools are on adjoining campuses between Twelve Mile Creek Road, Deal Road and Weddington Highway in the heart of Weddington NC. Built in 1998, Weddington Middle shares cafeteria and library facilities with Weddington Middle School.
Weddington Middle has grades 6-8 and operates on a traditional calendar. During the 2009-10 school year, the school had approximately 1030 students. Average class sizes ranged from 23 to 24 students.
Weddington Middle has ranked as an Honor School of Excellence for every year for eleven years. In 2010, Weddington Middle School was the number one traditional school in North Carolina in math and reading scores on the end-of-grade tests.
