After housing hunting for several weeks or months finally as "Virginia's first time home buyer" you find your dream home. Yeah!!!! Just hang on before you can start
celebrating....being a first time home buyer can you easily kill the
deal by making simple mistakes that can end up costing you to lose
earnest money deposit or void the contract and be back in the market. There are three mistakes every First time buyer should avoid:
1.
Open Credit cards or finance to purchase furniture or other things for
"TO BE" home. Stay away from decorating your dream home till the
closing.
2. Ripped the entire home inspection report to the
grain...be reasonable and know what you are getting yourself into.
Discuss the concern and questions you have with your Realtor and/or get
specific professional help rather than assuming worst case.
3.
Keeping shopping for the best interest rate. Time is an essence on all
our contracts. With the new regulation and guidelines you will have to
commit to a lender and your interest rate. So don't wait till it is about the time to close on the home. And when your lender ask for paper work keep rolling!!
