Bumper Sticker of the day - Keep Cotati Weird

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner CalBRE# 01433049

I love the small town of Cotati California, where I have lived for 20 years. We have young hippies, old hippies, an accordion festival, the infamous Cotati Crawl and a claim to be the "hub of Sonoma County".

Downtown Cotati, which is 1 1/2 blocks long, sports 4 bars, a head shop, a tattoo parlor, a glove repair shop (NBL players' gloves), several restaurants and a smattering of small independent shops. And our motto? Keep Cotati Weird.

The downtown businesses seem to fit the motto - not the typical downtown.  I have seen similar bumper stickers for Portland - it fits too!

Gotta love it.  Obviously weird is the same as unique and who wants to be like everyone else?

Hi Mel, I checked your profile to see if you meant Portland Maine or Oregon. I love Portland, it is a beautiful town with a lot of diversity.

Love it SSssssynthia~   Sounds like a great downtown area.  We don't have sports bars, we have a micro brewery and a bikers bar.  Guess we aren't so different!

There is an actual campaign in nearby Fayetteville, Arkansas called Keep Fayetteville Funky. Ilike it. Preserve the local flavor!

Donna - I had to update my blog, there are 4 bars in our downtown strip, not 3! One is a biker bar, one is huge with big screen TV, two have music and one has several pool tables.

Charles - funny, Cotati has been referred to as "funky town" many times before.

Anna Banana - yep, if everything goes right, I'll have a video tour up today. And yes, Cotati has it's share of characters.

Cindy - things don't move very fast here, that's for sure!

Michael - you'd fit right in, especially with that outfit you have on ... or lack thereof.
