Are You Taking Interstate Highways or Country Roads On Life's Journey?

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty 0575737

Country RoadMuch of our routes on life's journey to accomplish something in business or the personal side is zoom zoom. Like flying down the interstate highway going from point A to point B.

Are You Taking Interstate Highways or Country Roads On Life's Journey?

The reason I bring it up is the paths are all about the JOURNEY not the end point. You will get to the end point and then there will be other new beginnings. BUT did you slow down, taking in the sunshine and fresh air and smelling the fresh scent of the trees? There is so much to experience on a journey, much of it unexpected and if we fly past it not allowing our senses to absorb it, we are flying through life too.

Life does not have to be zoom zoom. Slow down. You'll get there. When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor. It's to enjoy each step along the way.

Gary,

Today in all the mess and beauty of this magnificent winter, we took a drive through the cemetery. It was one of the few places that we could slow down and even stop to enjoy the scenery without causing a traffic situation. It was snowing and still got some nice shots. Think it is time for a photo blog.

Hi Gary...We're living the country road life here at Lake Anna.  We are in the country now.  I've lived in D.C., Rome, Italy, Anchorage, Houston, plenty of big cities.  Love the pace of life out here.

One way to slow down is to take lots of pictures.  It helps open your eyes and hyou notice things you may have missed.

Gary,  I was lucky enought to drive... yes actually drive across this country many times when I was playing on the mini-tour.  California to Florida to Vermont to Wisconsin and backa gain.  It was an incredible time in my life-- and I would have missed so much if I had flown. I loved it!

Hi Gary,

Timely post here.  We just spent three days off, in a condo, at the ocean, watching the waves come in and out, walking on the beach, enjoying the sun, doing some light reading and getting relaxed.  Got so relaxed I couldn't find the droid, so I asked my wife, "do you think my phone is in the car."  Took the slow road.

Gary - Until 9/11, I'd say I was clearly on the fast track.  I left the corporate world, took up real estate, and while I wouldn't say I'm on a country lane, I'm always busy, but for the most part I'm busy at my own pace, not someone else's.  Life is still hectic, but not stressfully so.

Good post and good point.  I just did something for myself today.  I took a few extra days before family reunion and a few days after to spend time in CA with family.  It will be my pleasure and the only time in years that I am going to just be there and not for a specific occasion.

Gary,

Too often now the travel means only getting from point A to point B. But travel was the story going along with moving from point A to point B. It had so much more involved.

It's great to have the choice Gary.  When things get too hectic I'll take the winding and slower scenic route to regroup.

Hi Gary, I think I pretty much travel from point A-Q, by detour of F and roundabout through T and R. And I must say, there are a lot of "point B's" that have yet to be found! But ALWAYS, always, the music is on, inspiring and keeping my outlook uplifted. SOUNDS good and GOOD sounds. JOY for your day!

Hey Gary, What's an interstate? Due to my location in the world, I don't have a chioce.  It appears my interstate, is your country road.  Nothing moves fast in Northern Michigan. The big trick up here is making sure you don't get caught up lost on the two-tracks.  :)  DJ

Gary, I try very hard to enjoy each moment and realize what is happening when it is, especially with my family. It all goes by so fast we have to remember to enjoy & savor all there is.
