What's on your For Sale and Open House signs?

Here's an area that I think most REALTORS aren't taking advantage of -one of your most useful marketing tools - your FOR SALE signs! Think about it for a second - what does your Open House sign look like? Does it have any of your information on it at all? I see so many Open House signs advertising the Real Estate Company and logo - but what about the REALTOR? You're the one doing all the dirty work - lugging those signs out, sacrificing your weekends. So what gives?

My advice? Brand those signs! Throw your website on as well as your cell phone (great for putting on open house directional arrows - that way if people have trouble finding your open house, they can call. Is that brilliant or what)

Your For Sale signs - how bout making them look a little more unique than your regular sign company's template... Once again - who's getting the brand recognition? It's not you... it's your office who is profitting...

I am aware that most Real Estate Agencies have industry standards and logo compliance.. no problem! You can still use the company's colour.. but try to make it a little unique if you can. The example I'm using here is simple - we added a little orange (because that's his favorite colour)... by being a little different, you can stand out! And btw - we've also incorporated sticking a QR code onto his signs now... and for those of you who have no clue what I'm talking about - read my QR blog here

Here you can see - his sign made it on the local news last year - it wasn't a news piece on him, but more the Real Estate market - he was lucky enough to have his sign featured.  Now can you see the advantage of putting your website on your sign? ... free advertising - MORE TRAFFIC!!

So my advice to you - think about some customization for your signs - it separates you from the crowd, and it's a small cost for a huge potential!

It must be great to work in a community that allows "SIGN FREEDOM" I live in a community that prohibits off site Open House signage. We are allowed ONE "Open House" sign in front of the property and nothing else. Our "For Sale" and "For Rent" Signs are restricted to 12" x 18" with a white background with light blue block letter allowing the words "For Sale" or "For Rent", the Brokerage Firm Name and Telephone Number. Items prohibited on signs: Listing Agent Names, Agent Phone numbers, website addresses, corporate logos, Agent photos, Cell Phone Numbers, Sold/Pending/Just Listed Sign Riders. I live in the village of "No!"

Our broker insists we use uniform signs. He is so generous with letting us customize everything else, we can't complain. Also, we have numerous communities that have their own sign requirements, including where I live. They are the small 12x18 inch signs in varyng colors and letters. BTW, we do have really cool signs, I'll have one in my post for the contest. :)
