Before Christmas I shared with you two of my favorite versions of this song. One was a solo from a guitarist just jamming solo in his home recording studio. The other was a guy who jams like no other on the piano. Sick.....really good stuff. Just two completely separate versions. Both amateurs, both so different, but great SOLO covers of the original.

Tonight I'm giving you two MORE different versions of the same song. No soloists though. Real recording artists here. The first is from a group called AFI. This most mirrors the original in totality. Robert Smith, the lead singer of the cure is in the audience watching. He looks as strung out as ever, but I do like the cover.

THIS VERSION IS SO OPPOSITE THE PRIOR ONE THAT IT BLOWS ME AWAY. I love all 3 versions (the prior two posted on my prior blog post and the aforementioned). This one, however, is sooooooooo different that it intrigues me in a really wierd sort of way. Very opposite and very mellow.

THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING OTHER THAN ME RELAXING AND TAKING A NIGHT OFF. YOUR THOUGHTS?

If you appreciate beautiful music, listen to almost anything by Eva Cassidy. None better.

Try Fields Of Gold from her Songbird album. Google her name and some tunes on Youtube will come up.

Wow you have to like both versions. I played Katie Melua version first and thought I know that song and then when I played the Cure's original i said "ok" there it is. I actually liked K Melua's a little more . I guess I am getting old.

Jon....I have some great stuff from Eva before she passes away. I have that album. My favorite of her album songs? Remake of "Kathy's song" by Simon & Garfunkle.

Stan....you bummed me out. It's the one that I like the least of the four, but she still makes my list!
